September 2001 our world changed and preparedness for bioterrorism was placed on
the forefront of local, state and federal initiatives.
General Information The Huron County Health Department
established an Emergency Preparedness
Coordinator position on October 1,
2002. This position is currently shared by
two individuals - Faith Fahrner, R.N., B.S.N. Lead EPC and Leah Braun, R.S.
Emergency Preparedness Duties
All-Hazards in collaboration with
other county entities and existing
to the general public during a disaster or emergency event.
hospitals, law enforcement, EMS, fire personnel and other First Responders.
medical community and other governmental units regarding bioterrorism.
the spread of disease related to a bioterrorism agent.
be supportive in the event of an emergency, ( ie.chemical, biochemical or a natural disaster.)

participating on the Huron County Emergency Management Advisory Committee
please contact us. This committee addresses emergency planning at a
