Well Water Sampling
Water bottles are available for sampling well water for coliform bacteria, arsenic, and a partial chemical analysis which tests for iron, sodium, nitrate, hardness, sulfate, chloride and fluoride. 

 

General Information

Bacteria Testing

bulletThe test bottle is provided free of charge.
bulletThe sample will be tested for coliform bacteria.
bulletWritten procedures are provided that explain how to properly collect the water sample.
bulletA laboratory fee applies.  This fee is payable upon submission of the water sample.
bulletCollected water samples must be mailed to the MDEQ lab.  The mailing address will be provided, along with a mailing box.

Chemical Testing

bulletThe test bottle is provided free of charge.
bulletThe sample will be tested for various chemicals including iron, sulfate, fluoride, sodium, chloride, hardness and nitrates.
bulletWritten procedures are provided that explain how to properly collect the water sample.
bulletA laboratory fee applies.  This fee is payable upon submission of the water sample.
bulletCollected water samples must be mailed to the MDEQ lab.  The mailing address will be provided, along with a mailing box.

Arsenic Testing

bulletThe test bottle is provided free of charge.
bulletThe sample will be tested for arsenic.
bulletWritten procedures are provided that explain how to properly collect the water sample.
bulletA laboratory fee applies.  This fee is payable upon submission of the water sample.

Hours of Service

Test bottles for bacteria and chemical testing may be obtained:
Monday through Friday - 8 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Eligibility and Cost
