Well Construction Permits

The Environmental Health Program of the Huron County Health Department follows the standards of Act 368 as amended and the Safe Drinking Water Act.  The Well Water Construction program licenses, inspects and approves the construction of water wells in Huron County.

Description of Services

Permit Application

Permits are required for any new construction of a water well or a major alteration or repair of an existing well.  What is needed to complete an application?

bulletPresent owner's name and mailing address
bulletApplicant's name and mailing address
bulletTownship
bulletSection number
bulletSite plan

You will be provided all necessary forms and instructions for completion of the application.

Monday through Friday - 8 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Eligibility and Cost

Costs are provided per the Environmental Health Fee Schedule.  Viewing the fee schedule requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
